ACTIVITY SELECTED: PARKING RESERVATION FOR BUSES ON THE ROQUE DE LOS MUCHACHOS

IMPORTANT NOTICE:

The road leading to Roque de

Los Muchachos (LP-403) from the

IAC residence will be closed from

Monday to Friday between 9.00 am

and 5.00 pm due to road

resurfacing works.

 

On Saturday, 6 June 2026,

 

 

a sporting event will take place

finishing at the Roque de Los Muchachos car park.

 

IMPORTANT NOTICE: (From 15 June)

The road leading to Roque de Los

Muchachos (LP-4) from the Kms., 6,640 to 1,800

will be closed from Monday

to Friday between 8.30 am and 5.00 pm

due to road resurfacing works.

THE ROAD TO GARAFÍA: OPEN.

 

The LP-4 highway, which links Santa Cruz de La Palma with the municipality of Garafía, passing the Roque de los Muchachos, runs close to the highest peaks of the north of the Park, since there starting several entrances to the trails. At kilometer 37 of the same road we arrive at the residence of the Astrophysical Observatory, where a paved road goes up to the Roque de los Muchachos, which is the highest point of the park, and also the highest on the island. The space reserved for parking the buses is about 100 meters lower than the viewpoint of the Roque de los Muchachos, and being a fairly small place, only two buses can park at the same time.

This is not a regular service for passenger transport. Exclusively for companies/agencies/organized groups.

On the Roque de los Muchachos, we find a parking - paved veranda and an information stand of the park. It´s a pretty small place, so few meters before there is a small patch of soil where can park two buses simultaneously, there is no space for more. In order to facilitate the visit and that there is no congestion; we try to regulate this activity through the online reservation. 

INSTRUCTIONS FOR THE RESERVATION:

Reservations can be made one month in advance.

The minimum time for a cancellation of a reservation is 24 hours, that means till the day before; if you have problems for it, contact the Public Use Area of National Park.

There is no maximum time limit estimated for the parking on the Roque de los Muchachos, each agency or company can reserve the time slots which they are estimating necessary for their visit, considering that their good forecast will not adversely affect other services.

There is a minimum time period that corresponds to the 30-minute time slots reservations. Each company or agency must respect the time slot which they have booked. This time corresponds to the length of the stay on the parking of the Roque de los Muchachos.

Once the reserve has been processed you can print a copy (now it is not reconmended) or show it in an electronic device (mobile, tablet, etc) to the ranger in the information stand on the Roque de los Muchachos.

The National Park reserves the right to penalize agencies / companies / groups that do not respect accepted reservations.
